I Left My Heart in San Francisco

Our last day in San Francisco was spent mostly around the Golden Gate Bridge
and the Presidio area, which includes the iconic Palace of Fine Arts.
We got an early start and got through downtown by 10 am. We found our way over the bridge (construction made this a challenge) and drove under its massive spans.

When we got to the other side we found a walk for breast cancer involving hundreds of women climbing from the north landing up to the walkway of the bridge, so we joined some of them up a huge hillside path.

There are great views of the bridge, skyline, and surrounding mountains from everywhere.

We walked back down to the landing where we had left the Charger,
and drove back up and around to the southward drive over the bridge.

After that we made our way to the Presidio area, where the Palace of Fine Arts is located, and enjoyed its striking architecture.

Finally we drove through town and stumbled on Haight Ashbury

and then stopped for lunch in the Castro District.
Later after we got back we walked out to the bay beach right by our hotel.

Tomorrow we head for San Diego!
